My client is a full-service contract manufacturer specializing in custom mold design and plastic injection molding services for the medical, industrial, and military sectors. With over 30 years of experience, they offer capabilities including cleanroom assembly, micro molding, and quick-turn prototyping to deliver high-quality, customized solutions.Description
In this role you will report directly into the Engineering Manager and be responsible for:
- Ensuring all customer requirements are being met regarding communication, project management, tool design, manufacturing, quality, and delivery for projects and tooling.
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with all customers and vendors.
- Collaborating with management to seek new customers and supportive vendors to drive company growth.
- Supporting all quality activities and implementing the company's Quality Policy to maintain compliance with ISO 13485:2016 and other industry standards.
- Driving continuous improvement activities throughout the organization.
- Communicating directly with customers regarding project status, delivery, and qualification requirements.
- Reviewing mold and tool designs to enhance manufacturing quality and outcomes.
- Evaluating designs for new tooling, customer change notices, gauges, fixtures, and jigs.
- Facilitating the timely completion of new mold construction projects to meet established timelines.
- Developing and implementing manufacturing and engineering programs to improve overall operations.
- Managing projects for new customer tooling and products from inception through production realization.
- Leading meetings with customers to review project status and mold designs.
- Preparing documentation for quote packages.
- Conducting Design for Molding (DFM) analyses for new inquiries.
- Managing qualification projects in close collaboration with Quality Assurance.
- Maintaining high-level communication across all departments within the company.
- Assisting in the selection, procurement, and implementation of new equipment and facility improvements as needed.
- Providing input on cost and feasibility for new mold construction as required.
- Supporting Molding Technicians by ensuring timely ordering of supplies and components.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of continuous improvements across molding, tooling, printing, and other manufacturing operations.
Profile
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
- 5+ years of Project Management in a Manufacturing environment
- Plastics / Injection molding knowledge related to medical device a plus
- Safety procedures and SolidWorks knowledge
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus
- Medical device experience a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
