Director of Quality - Aerospace | Annual Bonuses!
Client Details
Our client is a metal products manufacturer primarily serving the defense and military sectors. With over a century of experience, they have played a significant role in both high-profile space projects and vital everyday metal applications. As they experience substantial growth, they are reinvesting in their facilities and workforce to sustain their leading position with key customers. The Quality Director will play a crucial role in developing C-suite strategies while also providing hands-on oversight at the operational level.
Description
- Oversee all quality operations, from quality control, engineering, continuous improvement, customer engagement, compliance, and high level strategy
- Manage key customer accounts with OEM aerospace manufacturers and government bodies
- Generate, improve, and implement standards across 3 sites to reduce quality issues and improve the quality process
- Maintain compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and NADCAP systems
- Improve overall quality culture with operators, inspectors, technicians, engineers, supervisors, and middle management
- Demonstrate strong business acumen in written and verbal form
- Lead continuous improvement initiates to reduce cost and improve efficiency
- Conduct hiring, firing, and performance reviews
- Manage department P&L
- Help to develop individual and team talents through training, performance monitoring, KPIs, and real-time feedback
Profile
Must Haves:
- 10 years leadership experience in Quality within metal manufacturing environments
- Strong business acumen with excellent communication skills
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field
- Strong Continuous Improvement aptitude with preferred formal Six Sigma Training
- Experience with AS9100, or NADCAP quality systems
- Experience building and developing quality culture
Nice to Haves:
- Knowledge of forging and casting processes
- Experience working directly with government parties
- Low Volume, High Mix Experience
- Masters Degree in Engineering or related field
