Description
The Assistant Project Manager - Base Build - DC will be responsible for:
- Supporting Project Managers and Superintendents through all phases of construction projects, from preconstruction to closeout
- Assisting with subcontractor bidding, coordination, and contract administration
- Preparing, tracking, and processing RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Helping maintain and update project schedules, budgets, and scopes of work
- Monitoring project progress and ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards
- Attending project meetings and conducting site visits as needed
- Maintaining accurate project documentation and reporting for leadership and stakeholders
- Coordinating with internal teams, clients, and external partners to keep projects on track
- Assisting with project turnover and supporting smooth transitions to end users or property management teams
Profile
The Assistant Project Manager - Base Build - DC will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- 1-3 years of construction experience; multifamily strongly preferred but commercial considered
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with project teams and external partners
- Familiarity with construction management software and document control processes (e.g., Procore, MS Project)
- Team-oriented mindset with the ambition to grow into a leadership role
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
