Cash Application Specialist
This role is focused on accurately applying incoming payments to customer accounts, performing account reconciliations, and resolving discrepancies in collaboration with the Collections and Accounting teams. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in AR, collections, or data entry, and be highly detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with partial on-site presence.

Description
Accurately apply incoming payments (checks, ACH, wires, credit cards) to the appropriate customer accounts and invoices.
Perform routine reconciliations of customer accounts to ensure accuracy and promptly address any discrepancies.
Collaborate with the Collections team to resolve issues such as short or overpayments, unidentified receipts, and missing remittance details.
Provide weekly updates on the status of unapplied cash and outstanding items.
Identify opportunities to streamline the cash application process and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Partner with the Accounts Receivable and General Accounting teams to resolve any issues affecting cash posting and account accuracy.
Maintain compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards related to cash application procedures.
Profile
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Collections, Accounts Receivable, or Data Entry.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Teams.
Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
Comfortable processing large volumes of data efficiently.
Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate well with others.
Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with accounting software is a plus, but not required.
Must be available to work onsite 3-4 days per week.
