Prestigious Non-Profit in Manhattan is looking for a Director of Benefits/HR to join their team. This position is located in Downtown NYC (4 days a week in office). $160k-$180k + great benefits.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with deep expertise in benefits administration, payroll systems, and compliance, coupled with exceptional people management skills.

Prestigious Non-Profit in Manhattan is looking for a Director of Benefits/HR to join their team. This position is located in Downtown NYC (4 days a week in office). $160k-$180k + great benefits.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with deep expertise in benefits administration, payroll systems, and compliance, coupled with exceptional people management skills.

Description

  • Design, implement, and manage comprehensive employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and other perks.
  • Regularly evaluate benefits offerings to ensure competitiveness and alignment with company goals.
  • Oversee open enrollment processes and ensure accurate communication and education for employees.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to maintain payroll integrity and resolve discrepancies.
  • Leverage Paycom (or other payroll systems) for streamlined payroll and reporting processes.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of HR professionals, including manager-level staff.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that promotes accountability, growth, and employee engagement.
  • Stay abreast of HR-related laws and regulations to ensure compliance across all HR functions.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures that support company objectives and mitigate risk.
  • Prepare and analyze HR metrics and reports to inform decision-making and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with senior leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives.
  • Lead projects and initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction, retention, and performance.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, CEBS) is a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with a strong focus on benefits and payroll.
  • Proven experience managing and developing HR teams, including at the manager level.
  • In-depth knowledge of benefits administration, payroll systems, and compliance requirements; expertise with Paycom is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive decisions.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
