AML Alerts Analyst

This role involves ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, investigating alerts from transaction monitoring systems, and conducting research to assess potential suspicious activities. Additional responsibilities include compiling documentation, performing PEP and negative news searches, writing investigation narratives, and supporting the AML team with data analysis, reporting, and system testing.

Description

• Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and ethical standards to maintain a compliant work environment.
• Investigate alerts generated by automated transaction monitoring systems and internal referrals, conducting online research on the focal entity and counter parties.
• Compile supporting documentation, such as transaction records and internet research, for alert investigations and analyze findings to assess potential suspicious activities.
• Conduct PEP and negative news searches, write detailed review narratives based on investigation results, and input accurate data into tracking logs.
• Support the AML team with additional tasks, including statistical data collection, analysis for AML reports, and conducting system testing for upgrades or new implementations.

Profile

• A Bachelor's degree or higher is required.

• CAMS certification is preferred, but not mandatory.

• Fluency in Mandarin is a plus.

• Over 3 years of experience in financial services, specifically in foreign correspondent banking transaction monitoring.

• Strong knowledge of BSA/AML regulations and previous experience using the Actimize system.
