Senior Project Manager - MultiFamily Construction
Client Details
Our client is a well‑established and growing general contractor headquartered in the northern suburbs of Chicago. They specialize in delivering high‑quality multi‑family residential construction projects, including:
- Ground‑up apartment developments
- Mixed‑use residential buildings
- Urban infill multi‑family projects
- Luxury and market‑rate communities
- Podium and wood‑frame construction
- Renovations and adaptive reuse residential conversions
Description
- Lead end‑to‑end project management for ground‑up and large‑scale multi‑family residential developments
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, manpower planning, and cost controls
- Oversee subcontractor procurement, contract negotiation, and buyout processes
- Coordinate closely with architects, engineers, developers, and internal teams
- Conduct site visits, progress reviews, and safety audits
- Ensure adherence to design specifications, building codes, and quality standards
- Review drawings, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and construction documents
- Facilitate weekly project meetings with owners and key stakeholders
- Mentor junior project managers, project engineers, and field staff
- Drive successful closeout, turnover packages, and client satisfaction
Profile
- 7-10+ years of construction project management experience
- Strong background in multi‑family residential construction is required
- Experience with podium, wood‑frame, and/or mixed‑use developments preferred
- Proven ability to lead large, multi‑phase residential projects
- Excellent financial and schedule management skills
- Strong communication, leadership, and conflict‑resolution abilities
- Proficiency with construction management software and documentation systems
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
