Description

  • Interpret customer specifications for materials, finishes, coatings, heat treatments, part marking, GD&T, and other critical quality requirements.
  • Develop 3D models, 2D operational sheets, and technical instructions for manufacturing components.
  • Integrate and manage manufacturing and design data across ERP, MRP, CAD, CAM, and CNC systems.
  • Create and release complete engineering technical packages for production, including operation sheets and travelers.
  • Ensure alignment between manufacturing software (ERP/MRP), CAD data, bill of materials, and method sequences.
  • Conduct peer reviews to verify compliance before releasing jobs to production.
  • Manage engineering change orders (ECO/ECR/ECN) and ensure proper documentation control.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues on the production floor in real time.
  • Evaluate non-conforming parts against customer specifications and determine corrective actions (rework, scrap, or as-is processing).
  • Optimize production costs by analyzing labor, materials, setup, machine usage, and inspection processes.
  • Research industry trends, technologies, and best practices through webinars, journals, and trade shows.
  • Provide training and mentorship as a subject matter expert to support knowledge transfer.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and implement lean manufacturing improvements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Profile

  • Associate degree in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering preferred.
  • 10+ years in manufacturing, preferably in machining or contract manufacturing.
  • Experience with aerospace customer standards, GD&T, special process specifications, and raw material requirements.
  • Familiarity with RTX customers (Collins Aerospace, Hamilton Sundstrand, Pratt & Whitney) preferred; experience with GE, Kaman, Sikorsky, and other OEMs considered.
  • Proficiency in developing process sheets for multi-axis turning, Swiss turning, multi-axis milling, and/or grinding.
  • Strong understanding of machining advanced alloys to precision tolerances (0.0001'), including work holding, tooling, fixturing, and process sequencing.
  • Ability to create 3D models and 2D process sheets; experience with SolidWorks preferred.
  • Proficiency in database management and IT tools for data collection and analysis (ERP, MRP, PDM systems)
