Electronics - Manufacturing Engineer - Lancaster, MA
The Manufacturing Engineer plays a key role in bringing new and redesigned products into production by selecting and implementing lean processes, equipment, tooling, and manufacturing methods. This role is also responsible for identifying opportunities to improve products, equipment, and processes to drive down costs, minimize scrap and rework, and reduce maintenance and setup time. The engineer will collaborate closely with the New Product Development team to support smooth product launches. This position reports directly to the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering.

Description
Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer:
- Lead and manage new product projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and cross-functional coordination.
- Review product designs for manufacturability and oversee development of production documentation.
- Design, procure, and implement tooling to support new product introductions.
- Coordinate materials, equipment, and processes to ensure cost-effective, high-quality production.
- Drive lean initiatives through Kaizen events and tools like 5S, Kanban, TPM, and Poka-Yoke.
- Analyze and improve existing processes to reduce scrap, rework, setup time, and labor costs.
- Troubleshoot tooling, equipment, and process issues internally and with external partners.
- Specify, justify, and oversee installation of new capital equipment and technologies.
Profile
Ideal Manufacurting Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technology discipline (e.g., Mechanical, General, or Industrial Engineering)
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or engineering roles
- Strong understanding of diverse manufacturing processes, materials, tooling, and equipment
- Proven ability to lead capital and new product projects from concept through execution
- Effective communicator with solid verbal and written communication skills
- Skilled in using Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience in project management is a plus
- Self-driven and results-oriented with a track record of delivering successful outcomes
