Interim Plant Controller
This Interim Plant Controller will serve as a strategic finance partner to plant leadership, driving financial performance through analysis of costs, productivity, inventory, and operational KPIs. The role will oversee plant accounting, forecasting, compliance, inventory management, and variance analysis while supporting operational decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.

Description
- Partner strategically with the Plant Manager and operations leadership to drive financial and operational performance
- Deliver actionable insights into plant results, including cost, productivity, yield, scrap, and margin trends
- Support key business decisions related to pricing, make-versus-buy analysis, capital expenditures, and continuous improvement efforts
- Participate actively in plant leadership meetings and operational performance reviews
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities for the plant
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance reports, and management reporting packages
- Ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP, corporate accounting standards, and SOX compliance requirements
- Coordinate internal and external audit activities, including documentation preparation and process walkthroughs
- Lead the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and forecasting processes for the facility
- Identify financial risks and trends, providing proactive insights on potential performance gaps
- Monitor KPIs and cost-saving initiatives to ensure alignment with business objectives and budgets
- Oversee standard costing processes, including bill of materials (BOMs), routings, and labor rate accuracy
- Analyze and communicate manufacturing variances, including PPV, usage, absorption, and overhead variances
- Direct physical inventory counts, cycle count programs, and inventory valuation activities
- Drive improvements in inventory turns, obsolescence management, and overall working capital performance
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 3-10 years of leadership experience within a manufacturing accounting environment
- Strong background in cost accounting and inventory accounting
- Proven experience managing month-end close processes, with exposure to fast-paced close timelines (currently targeted at 5 days)
- Experience working with SAP or comparable ERP systems preferred
