Principal Systems Engineer
We 're seeking a Systems Engineer to address the end-of-service life issues with storage and backup infrastructure. The role will involve upgrading 10+ devices to meet service and support standards, as well as critical projects like Sybase to SQL migration, 3PAR upgrades, and NetApp EOL bridge and switch management. The role requires expertise in Perl scripting, JavaScript, Sybase, SQL, Python, Jenkins, GITLab, AutoSys, databases, and software development.

Description
- Design and engineer innovative solutions to replace end-of-life storage and batch processing environments.
- Develop and execute detailed planning cycles to ensure smooth implementation with no service disruptions or impact on applications.
- Oversee the implementation and production cutover events, with availability for weekend support.
- Collaborate closely with a seasoned team to assess the current networking environment, prioritize design upgrades, and complete strategic objectives, with a preference for candidates experienced in financial sectors and automation skills.
THIS POSITION REQUIRES DAYS ONSITE IN STAMFORD, CT! Profile
- Strong technical expertise in developing workload automation using Perl, Java, and Python across diverse system platforms.
- Experience working within large, global financial environments, specifically managing critical internal and external batch processing.
- Proficient in Perl, Java, database management, and automation techniques.
- Preferred certifications in Perl, Java, SQL, NetApp, 3PAR, Sybase, CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, GITLab, VMware, GCP/AWS, as well as automation tools like Python, Terraform, and Ansible.
- Collaborative approach with the ability to quickly assess the current networking environment, prioritize design upgrades, and work with a seasoned team to accomplish strategic goals, particularly in financial sectors with complex batch processing and storage requirements.
