Director of Quality

$160,000 - $185,000/Year

The Director of Quality will oversee the development, implementation, and optimization of quality systems, processes, and standards. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and customer expectations while collaborating with leadership to embed quality into every aspect of the business.

Description

  • Define and execute the organization's quality strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), and compliance programs.
  • Implement and maintain a robust Quality Management System (QMS) in line with AS9100, ISO 9001, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage internal and external audits and ensure readiness for regulatory inspections.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain) to integrate quality into all processes.
  • Oversee supplier quality programs and vendor qualification processes.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development for the quality team.
  • Report quality metrics and trends to executive leadership, recommending corrective actions as needed.

Profile

A successful Director of Quality should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in quality leadership roles within aerospace, technology, or advanced manufacturing industries.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, regulatory compliance, and quality systems.
  • Proven track record of implementing QMS and driving continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Certifications such as ASQ CQE, Six Sigma Belt, or similar are highly desirable
