Design Engineer | Electronics
We are seeking a Design Engineer to join our product development team, supporting both new and existing business across multiple markets. This role is responsible for sustaining legacy products, driving research, and developing innovative new product designs

Description
Manage technical aspects of product design projects from concept to launch, working closely with cross-functional teams and applying lean product development practices
Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
Apply design expertise with plastics (injection molding) and metals (stamping, machining)
Develop and document engineering outputs using SolidWorks or CREO and ePDM, including BOMs, ECNs, drawings, etc.
Create and execute test plans to meet product requirements
Partner with the test lab or perform testing directly to validate designs
Ensure accuracy and quality in all engineering deliverables
Collaborate with external engineering services or suppliers as needed to support business objectives
Generate creative design concepts and determine efficient approaches to achieve product development goals
Engage in ongoing learning and professional development to strengthen skills and knowledge
Communicate with customers on technical documentation and requirements
Apply a continuous improvement mindset to daily work
Adhere to company safety policies and work practices with a focus on minimizing risk
Follow established engineering methods, policies, and processes
Maintain workplace organization and housekeeping (5S practices)
Perform other duties as assigned
Profile
Bachelor's degree in Engineering required (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
Minimum 5 years' experience in product design, specifically connectors or similar components
Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally to bring new designs from concept to launch
Familiarity with relevant standards such as MIL-DTL-5015, MIL-DTL-38999, MIL-DTL-28482, UL, IEC, etc.
Strong proficiency with Creo and SolidWorks, following best modeling practices
Experience with connector testing methods, including tensile testing, cross-sections, temperature rise, and military specification testing
Job Offer
Skilled in engineering analysis tools (finite element analysis, mold flow simulation, heat transfer, electrical simulation preferred)
Strong decision-making skills with ability to clearly explain design rationale
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; proficiency with modern communication and office software
Experience with project management platforms and ERP systems
Expertise in technical drawings, GD&T, and tolerance analysis
Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (intermediate level or higher)
Working knowledge of Lean tools (Root Cause Analysis, A3s, Knowledge Reports)
Hands-on prototyping experience including 3D printing, contact and connector prototyping
Ability to convey and apply technical concepts fluently
