Packaging Manager - Manufacturing - Nashua, NH

My client is an engineering firm delivering customized solutions for a range of industrial projects, from small system modifications to large-scale capital installations. The company focuses on full lifecycle project execution, including design, engineering, process optimization, and team coordination, while prioritizing safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.
Description
You will report directly into the Vice President and be responsible for:
- Collaborating with customers to understand packaging application needs and requirements.
- Designing innovative packaging solutions and presenting proposals to customers.
- Identifying and coordinating with key equipment suppliers to meet specific application requirements.
- Developing comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
- Coordinating with cross-functional teams, including procurement, electrical and mechanical installation, and automation, to execute projects efficiently.
- Working directly with onsite resources to ensure smooth installations and successful production start-ups.
- Creating and managing project budgets while monitoring expenses and optimizing costs.
- Balancing quality, performance, and cost-effectiveness throughout project execution.
- Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
- Communicating project progress and departmental status to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Addressing feedback and adjusting project plans as needed to meet objectives.
- Hiring, training, and developing the technical and professional skills of packaging team members.
- Conducting performance evaluations and providing ongoing feedback to staff.
- Developing methods, guidelines, and policies to enhance service delivery and ensure quality standards are maintained.
Profile
The successful candidate will have
- Mechanical Engineering or related degree preferred, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience with packaging in a manufacturing environment
- Liquid processing handling experience preferred
- Packaging equipment, materials, and processes knowledge
- Experience in a fast-paced environment
- Industry regulations knowledge (ISO, FDA, GMP)
