Construction Project Engineer (MEP) - Queens, NY

We're seeking an experienced MEP Project Engineer to support the management and coordination of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems across multiple projects. This role is ideal for someone with strong field and coordination experience in healthcare facilities or infrastructure upgrades, particularly those involving hospitals, laboratories, or municipal systems.

Description

• Assist Project Managers and MEP Coordinators in overseeing all MEP-related scopes from design through closeout.

• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals for MEP systems.

• Coordinate between design teams, subcontractors, and field operations to ensure proper installation and sequencing.

• Track RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings, ensuring timely responses and approvals.

• Support field inspections, testing, and commissioning of systems.

• Ensure MEP systems comply with NYC DOB, DOH, and other regulatory requirements.

• Manage project documentation, meeting minutes, and progress tracking for internal and client reporting.

• Participate in value engineering and constructability reviews.

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or related field.

• 3-7 years of experience as a Project Engineer or MEP Coordinator in construction.

• Experience with healthcare, institutional, or public infrastructure projects in NYC.

• Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, and fire protection systems.

• Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD/Revit preferred.

• Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills.

• OSHA 30 or NYC SST certification a plus.
