Leaves and Accommodations Specialist
Reporting directly to the Benefits Manager, the Leaves and Accommodations Specialist will manage the end-to-end leave process for their largely New York based employee population. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to navigate complex leave policies with care and efficiency.

This non-profit organization based in Midtown Manhattan is dedicated to community justice and equity. They are seeking a Leaves and Accommodations Specialist to join their Benefits team and play a key role in supporting employees through the leave and accommodations process.
Description
Administer and manage all employee leave requests, including FMLA, ADA, disability, parental, and other statutory leaves.
Serve as the primary point of contact for employees seeking leave or workplace accommodations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
Work closely with HR, payroll, and managers to track leave status and provide necessary updates.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of leave requests and accommodations.
Communicate leave policies clearly and effectively to employees and managers.
Coordinate with third-party leave administrators and insurance providers as needed.
Ensure compliance with all legal and organizational requirements related to leaves and accommodations.
Assist with benefits-related tasks and special projects as needed.
Profile
3+ years of experience managing employee leaves and accommodations, preferably in New York.
Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, NY Paid Family Leave, and other relevant regulations.
Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive matters professionally.
Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work onsite in Midtown Manhattan three days per week.
