Description

They are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Account Manager to lead and manage the daily operations of their Account Management department. In this role, you will oversee a team of account managers, ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service while driving revenue growth and customer retention. You will be responsible for developing and executing account strategies, managing key client relationships, and collaborating with internal teams to meet customer needs and business objectives. This is an on-site position in the Greater Hartford area.

  • Lead and manage the daily activities of the Account Management department, ensuring operational excellence and efficiency.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop account management staff to achieve performance goals and career growth.
  • Establish and monitor departmental KPIs, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Develop and implement account management strategies to drive revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and retention.
  • Oversee the management of key accounts, ensuring a deep understanding of client needs and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Conduct regular account reviews and ensure the proactive identification of upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, serving as the primary point of contact for senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of customer issues and concerns, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their strategic goals and position the company as a trusted partner.
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, technical support, supply chain, and regulatory teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Provide customer feedback to internal teams to drive continuous improvement in products and services.
  • Partner with the Business Development team to support new business opportunities and account transitions.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on account performance, departmental KPIs, and customer insights to senior management.
  • Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and optimize account management strategies.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in account management, sales, or customer service
  • Experience within the specialty chemicals, biopharmaceutical, or pharmaceutical industries is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proven ability to manage key accounts and drive revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing, regulatory requirements, and specialty chemical applications.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
