The Director, Technology Audit will lead the strategy and execution of complex technology audits across a global financial organization, with a focus on application controls, emerging technology risks, and enterprise‑wide technology governance. Description

    • Lead the planning and execution of technology audits focused on application platforms and supporting systems
    • Conduct annual and ongoing risk assessments to identify key and emerging technology risks
    • Define audit scope, testing strategies, and coverage areas for complex technology environments
    • Oversee multiple concurrent audits, ensuring high‑quality workpapers and well‑supported findings
    • Evaluate application controls, IT general controls, system interfaces, middleware, and security configurations
    • Identify control gaps and partner with technology leaders to develop effective remediation plans
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with global technology, business, and risk stakeholders
    • Lead issue discussions with senior management and clearly communicate risks and recommendations
    • Manage and develop a global audit team, providing coaching, feedback, and performance oversight
    • Promote the use of innovative audit approaches, including automation and data analytics
    • Prioritize audit workflows, resources, and timelines to ensure timely and successful audit delivery
    • Investigate unexpected issues and provide thoughtful analysis and practical solutions
    • Support enhancements to audit methodologies, tools, and processes
    • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory expectations impacting technology risk

Profile

A successful Director, Technology Audit should have:

  • Brings deep experience in IT audit, technology risk, or cybersecurity, ideally with 15+ years in financial services or another highly regulated industry
  • Strong understanding of application controls, IT general controls, interfaces, middleware, and technology governance
  • Demonstrated ability to assess emerging risks across AI/ML, cloud, cybersecurity, data governance, and modern payment technologies
  • Proven success leading large‑scale or global technology audits from planning through remediation
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence senior technology stakeholders
  • Skilled at identifying control gaps and delivering practical, risk‑based solutions
  • Experience managing, developing, and motivating a global audit team
  • Strong analytical mindset, sound judgment, and adaptability when navigating complex issues
  • Proficient in modern audit tools, data analytics, automation, and advanced testing techniques
  • Holds relevant academic and professional qualifications such as a degree in IT or a related field and certifications like CISA, CISSP, or CISM
  • Thrives in a fast‑paced, evolving environment with a commitment to continuous learning
