A leading global nonprofit organization is seeking a Controller. This role is based at the organization's headquarters and will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The Controller will play a pivotal role in overseeing finance, accounting, and reporting activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting program effectiveness.

Description

The Controller will:

• Lead the finance and accounting team at the headquarters, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage the monthly closing process, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparation of financial reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR and Grants Management, to enhance financial integration.
• Support the CFO in the budgeting, audit, and strategic financial planning processes.
• Supervise a team of finance professionals, fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment and promoting team development through training and mentoring.

Profile

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification required.
• Experience: Extensive experience in finance and accounting, including strong experience in management, ideally within the nonprofit sector.
• Skills: In-depth knowledge of GAAP, experience with federal and government grant regulations, and advanced skills in accounting and reporting software. Strong analytical and strategic planning capabilities.
