Production Manager - Metal Manufacturing - Hartford, CT

Lead a metal-forming production division, guiding teams to meet performance, safety, and customer expectations. This role combines hands-on leadership, lean-driven improvement, and full responsibility for divisional results.

Description

  • Lead divisional operations and support company goals through effective communication and direction.
  • Drive employee development, performance management, and workplace safety.
  • Oversee hiring, evaluations, corrective actions, and workforce planning.
  • Own divisional P&L, budgeting, and capital planning activities.
  • Ensure goals for quality, on-time delivery, inventory management, and profitability are met.
  • Collaborate closely with Customer Service, Estimating, Production Control, and Finance to support profitable growth.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives to enhance quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Maintain adherence to safety, housekeeping, and company policies.
  • Support cross-functional training and assist other teams as needed.

Profile

  • Background in manufacturing leadership; experience with progressive stamping preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Strong management, communication, and administrative skills.
  • Ability to recruit, train, and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Proven project management capability and strength in prioritization.
  • Analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Collaborative leadership approach with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and work in a production environment as needed.
