Assistant Controller
The Assistant Controller at our manufacturing client supports the Controller in managing day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and month-end close processes. They play a key role in ensuring accuracy, internal controls, and compliance while also assisting with budgeting, audits, and process improvements.

Description
- Support the Controller in managing day-to-day accounting operations
- Oversee general ledger activities and ensure accurate financial records
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Help lead the month-end and year-end close processes
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Coordinate with external auditors during audits and support audit preparation
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and finance
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to internal stakeholders
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated ability to manage month-end close and financial reporting processes
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting
- Experience with ERP systems is highly desirable
- Committed to continuous improvement and operational efficiency
