Client Details
Our client is a second-generation, family-owned General Contractor with over 60 years of experience serving the Baltimore Metro area. While they've built a strong reputation in educational construction (both K-12 and higher ed), their growing portfolio also includes senior living, non-profit, office, and multifamily projects. With a robust backlog extending into 2026, they're expanding their team and currently seeking a skilled Assistant Superintendent to support a $65M K-12 project in Baltimore.
Description
The Assistant Superintendent - K-12 Construction | Baltimore will be responsible for:
- Assisting the Superintendent with daily on-site operations to ensure adherence to project schedules, safety standards, and quality benchmarks
- Coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely material deliveries and smooth workflow
- Supporting enforcement of safety protocols through regular site inspections and compliance with OSHA and company policies
- Monitoring project progress and maintaining accurate daily reports for project management
- Helping manage site personnel to ensure efficient task execution and productivity
- Collaborating with the Superintendent and Project Manager to address field issues and resolve challenges as they arise
- Assisting with project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and punch list items
- Contributing to quality control by ensuring all work aligns with project plans, specifications, and standards
- Participating in project meetings and maintaining clear communication with clients, architects, engineers, and team members
- Maintaining site organization, cleanliness, and security throughout all stages of construction
Profile
The Assistant Superintendent - K-12 Construction | Baltimore will have:
- An associate's or bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- At least 5 years of experience in construction or site supervision, ideally in an assistant superintendent role
- A strong understanding of construction processes, safety protocols, building codes, and industry standards
- Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, PlanGrid) and Microsoft Office Suite
- The ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with keen attention to detail
- The ability to adapt to changing project demands and manage deadlines under pressure
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (preferred)
