Senior Accounting Manager - Industrial Services Company
I'm working directly with the Chief Accounting Officer of a fast-growing, privately held environmental services company based near Hoffman Estates, IL. This national industry leader supports major clients like Procter & Gamble, Jiffy Lube, and Firestone. With strong organic growth and a focus on strategic acquisitions, they're now expanding their team with an Senior Accounting Manager role.
As the Senior Accounting Manager in this new role, you'll drive financial oversight and analysis for key operations, lead the close process, and own company-wide expense reviews. You'll collaborate in monthly ops meetings, champion new accounting standards, and take part in impactful projects that shape the business.

Description
Senior Accounting Manager Responsibilities:
- Oversee the month-end close process for all waste treatment facilities, including additional procedures during quarter- and year-end closes.
- Monitor intercompany transfer rates year-round and suggests updates when necessary.
- Design and manage a system to track intercompany transfers effectively.
- Ensure plant cost allocations are accurate and reviewed at least once a year.
- Prepare monthly financial summaries and key performance indicators (KPIs) for senior leadership distribution.
- Partner closely with on-site operations management on strategic projects and capital investment initiatives.
- Review financial performance for individual sites and the overall waste treatment operations to support informed business decisions, improve profitability, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Hold monthly meetings with operations leaders to discuss financial outcomes.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing presentation materials for quarterly Board of Directors meetings.
- Provide detailed financial reporting and support for waste treatment facilities during monthly management meetings.
- Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and strengthen internal controls within the accounting function.
- Collaborates across departments, including accounting teams, to ensure all transactions are recorded timely and comply with US GAAP standards.
- Works with department heads to develop the annual budget for waste treatment operations and assist in quarterly forecasting.
Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Higher education credentials preferred
- Manufacturing Experience
- Experience working with and partnering with cross departments
- Able to communicate complex ideas to senior leaders
