Description
The key responsibilities of the field service engineer are:
- Install and configure complex automation machinery to meet operational standards
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues on-site
- Perform preventative maintenance to maximize equipment uptime and lifespan
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand and support project objectives
- Maintain detailed service records and technical documentation
- Train customers and fellow technicians on equipment usage and troubleshooting
- Communicate component needs and service updates to supervisors and purchasing agents
Profile
A successful Field Service Engineer will:
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in field service or industrial automation
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-based systems
- Skilled at reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Comfortable with extensive domestic and international travel (up to 75%)
- Valid driver's license and U.S. passport required
