Description
The Senior Estimator will be responsible for:
Preparing comprehensive and accurate cost estimates across a variety of project types and delivery methods.
Reviewing and approving estimates, budgets, and bid packages developed by junior estimators.
Performing constructability and design reviews in collaboration with clients and design teams.
Developing preliminary budgets and tracking cost trends throughout preconstruction to identify risks or overruns.
Participating in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs while maintaining quality.
Assisting in the development of project schedules, logistics plans, and staffing strategies during preconstruction.
Managing multiple estimates simultaneously while supporting and mentoring junior team members.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
Supporting business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client presentations.
Assisting project leadership with bid leveling, subcontractor analysis, and contract negotiations.
Organizing and managing preconstruction documentation, including bid solicitations and qualification packages.
Identifying project risks and working with leadership to develop mitigation strategies.
Collaborating with internal teams to leverage company resources and expertise.
Participating in industry and community engagement initiatives.
Assisting with the hiring and development of estimating staff.
Serving as a mentor within the estimating team.
Profile
The Senior Estimator will have:
Experience estimating and winning commercial construction projects valued at $10M+
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred
7-10 years of construction experience, including at least 5 years focused on estimating
Experience with PlanSwift, Procore, Primavera P6, and BuildingConnected
Strong knowledge of Sage 300 estimating software
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong analytical and communication skills
Job Offer
The Senior Estimator will be offered:
$130,000 - $150,000 base salary
