Description

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for:

• Preparing comprehensive and accurate cost estimates across a variety of project types and delivery methods.

• Reviewing and approving estimates, budgets, and bid packages developed by junior estimators.

• Performing constructability and design reviews in collaboration with clients and design teams.

• Developing preliminary budgets and tracking cost trends throughout preconstruction to identify risks or overruns.

• Participating in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs while maintaining quality.

• Assisting in the development of project schedules, logistics plans, and staffing strategies during preconstruction.

• Managing multiple estimates simultaneously while supporting and mentoring junior team members.

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.

• Supporting business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client presentations.

• Assisting project leadership with bid leveling, subcontractor analysis, and contract negotiations.

• Organizing and managing preconstruction documentation, including bid solicitations and qualification packages.

• Identifying project risks and working with leadership to develop mitigation strategies.

• Collaborating with internal teams to leverage company resources and expertise.

• Participating in industry and community engagement initiatives.

• Assisting with the hiring and development of estimating staff.

• Serving as a mentor within the estimating team.

Profile

The Senior Estimator will have:

• Experience estimating and winning commercial construction projects valued at $10M+

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred

• 7-10 years of construction experience, including at least 5 years focused on estimating

• Experience with PlanSwift, Procore, Primavera P6, and BuildingConnected

• Strong knowledge of Sage 300 estimating software

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• Strong analytical and communication skills
