Project Engineer

The Project Engineer will be responsible for the design, coordination, and management of wastewater treatment and collection system projects. This role offers a balance of technical design work, project oversight, and client interaction. You'll collaborate closely with municipalities, utilities, and internal teams to deliver high-quality, compliant, and sustainable infrastructure solutions.

Our client, a reputable Civil Engineering firm headquartered in Hartford, CT, is seeking a Licensed Project Engineer with experience in wastewater infrastructure projects. Description

As Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Design and manage wastewater infrastructure projects including treatment facilities, pump stations, and sewer networks.

  • Prepare engineering reports, construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.

  • Coordinate with local and state regulatory agencies to ensure permitting and code compliance.

  • Conduct site visits, construction oversight, and troubleshooting during implementation.

  • Interface with clients, contractors, and internal design teams to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.

  • Support project budgets, schedules, and overall quality assurance.

  • Mentor junior engineering staff and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Connecticut is required.

  • 5+ years of experience in wastewater and/or water resources engineering.

  • Familiarity with EPA and CTDEEP regulations, permitting, and design standards.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and relevant hydraulic modeling software (e.g., SewerCAD, WaterGEMS).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment.
