NPI Engineer - Industrial Manufacturing - Amherst, NH

My client is looking for an NPI Engineer to join their team and help guide the transition of new products from design to full-scale production. This involves coordinating cross-functional teams, optimizing manufacturing processes, and ensuring products meet quality and cost targets for efficient production.

My client, based out of the Amherst, NH area, is a private, family-owned company specializing in high-volume investment casting and manufacturing of components and sub-assemblies for industries like automotive, aerospace, and defense. Founded over 75 years ago, this company has a long history of manufacturing innovation technologies that are used globally.

Description

The key responsibilities of the NPI Engineer include:

  • Design and Development: Involvement in designing and developing products, materials testing, process studies, and report generation.
  • Customer Collaboration: Working with customer-defined requirements to prepare manufacturing documentation and seek approvals for production. This involves close interaction with customer technical teams to create cost-effective and producible components.
  • Process Improvement: Developing specifications for equipment, enhancing manufacturing techniques, and introducing new production processes. Ensuring compatibility between processes and designs.
  • Change Management: Evaluating engineering changes and acting as a liaison between production planning and engineering teams.
  • Quality Enhancement: Recommending improvements to product design and development processes to enhance quality.
  • Manufacturing Support: Creating engineering schematics, parts lists, and providing advisory support to analyze and improve production practices and methods.
  • Data Analysis: Compiling and analyzing test and production data to recommend processes that meet design objectives.

Profile

The successful NPI Engineer will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the industrial manufacturing field, ideal working with metals
  • Must be proficient with computers, including MS Office applications, technical computer modeling, and statistical tools.
