Quality Manager | Automotive | McHenry, IL
The Quality Manager will oversee all quality operations for the site. This individual will have one direct report and serve to manage supplier relationships, identify non-confromances, and maintain compliance with the companies IATF 16949 quality system.
Client Details
Our client is a well respected global automotive manufacturer with multiple sites throughout the country. Their facility near the Illinois/Wisconsin border is a small shop that is very family oriented, priding themselves on culture and retention. Due to a retirement, they now seek a Quality Engineer to head up the quality operation to maintain compliance and drive improvement.
Description
- Maintain consistent compliance with IATF 16949
- Lead cross-functional teams to create and update Process Control Plans/Manufacturing Process Plans, FMEAs, and Process Masters
- Initiate and coordinate follow-up activity on Corrective/Preventive Actions (CAR/PAR)
- Coordinate activity related to Claims and Non-Conforming Product including processing the required internal and external documentation
- Review Heat Treatment nonconformances and disposition for retesting or reprocessing
- Review Material Test Reports for compliance to order specifications and submit to customers
- Log quality related data such as nonconformances and first pass quality into QA databases
- Generate quality reports and update monthly key performance indicators (KPI) data
- Prepare First Article/Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submission packages
- Perform Internal Quality Audits in conformance with IATF 16949
- Coordinate supplier quality activity including supplier quality audits and surveys
Profile
- 2+ years in quality within automotive manufacturing
- Knowledge of AIAG core tools such as PPAPs and APQP
- Desire to learn and grow skill set
- Strong communication skills
Job Offer
- Salary between $60,000 - $80,000 depending on level of experience with IATF 16949 auditing
- Bonus based on company performance (~5% Annually)
