Superintendent- Grocery Store Construction

Our client is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee ground-up and renovation grocery store projects throughout South Florida, with a focus on active retail environments. This role will lead field operations, schedules, subcontractors, and quality control on projects for major grocery clients such as Publix.

Description

• Manage all on-site construction activities from preconstruction through project closeout

• Oversee grocery store ground-up builds, renovations, and remodels, often in occupied or fast-track environments

• Coordinate subcontractors, inspectors, vendors, and internal project teams

• Enforce jobsite safety, quality control, and company standards

• Maintain project schedules, conduct daily/weekly planning meetings, and track progress

• Resolve field issues proactively to avoid delays and cost overruns

• Ensure work complies with plans, specifications, and local building codes

Profile

• 5+ years of Superintendent experience with a general contractor

• Proven background in grocery store or big-box retail construction (Publix experience strongly preferred)

• Experience working on fast-paced, schedule-driven projects in live retail environments

• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple trades

• Solid understanding of South Florida building codes and inspection processes

• OSHA certification preferred
