Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager will oversee all key aspects of accounting operations and play a vital role in ensuring financial accuracy and integrity. This role is responsible for managing the month-end close process, preparing financial statements, supporting audits, and driving continuous improvements in processes and controls.

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.

• Manage the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS.

• Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements; ensure consistency with internal and external reporting standards.

• Manage sales tax, use tax, business licenses, registration renewals, property tax, and other required filings.

• Enhance and maintain strong internal controls and process improvements; ensure internal audit compliance as applicable.

• Serve as the accounting point of contact for cross-functional collaboration with FP&A and Operations teams.

• Support treasury operations including bank reconciliations and cash forecasting.

• Maintain fixed asset ledgers and ensure appropriate depreciation policies are applied.

• Collaborate with FP&A on annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.

• Provide analytical insights through regular reporting packages and variance analysis, highlighting key business trends for management.

• Coordinate annual insurance reporting and liaise with insurance brokers on policy updates, claims, and location changes.

• Manage transactions in SAP, including approving new suppliers and reviewing/approving supplier payments.

• Perform and oversee intercompany reconciliations.

• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

• Collaborate with other departments and external parties to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

• Handle ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed.

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA is a plus).

• 6-8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a mid-sized or high-growth environment within retail or consumer goods.

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS, with experience in financial statement preparation and audit support.

• Experience with SAP; advanced Excel skills required.

• Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.

• Experience within wholesale, retail, or eCommerce-especially fashion or apparel-is a major plus.

• Self-starter with the ability to independently build and maintain efficient reporting models and dashboards.

• Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change, streamline operations, and foster a culture of excellence.

• Highly organized, agile, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
