Cash Application Specialist
Ensure accurate processing and application of daily cash receipts while reconciling payments, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining customer account records. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, support month-end close, assist with audits, and utilize ERP systems to streamline transactions and improve efficiency.

Description
- Accurately process and apply daily cash receipts (ACH, wire transfers, checks, credit card payments) to customer accounts.
- Reconcile payments with invoices, ensuring proper allocation of funds.
- Research and resolve unapplied or misapplied payments, short payments, and deductions.
- Communicate with customers, internal departments (sales, customer service, credit & collections), and banks regarding payment discrepancies.
- Process chargebacks, deductions, and adjustments in compliance with company policies.
- Maintain and update customer accounts, ensuring proper documentation of payment transactions.
- Support month-end close by reconciling AR and cash application transactions.
- Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
- Utilize ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) and customer portals to process transactions.
- Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Profile
- 2+ years of experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or a related finance role, preferably in a CPG, retail, or distribution environment.
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes, chargebacks, and deductions.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, NetSuite, etc.) and customer portals (Retailer-specific portals, Ariba, etc.).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
