The Senior Estimator will play a critical role in preconstruction and project planning by providing accurate cost estimates, budgets, and value engineering solutions. This position requires a deep understanding of construction methods, materials, and market pricing, as well as strong analytical and communication skills.

My client is a real estate development firm with a fully integrated construction division, specializing in residential, mixed-use, and commercial projects throughout the Greater Philadelphia area. Their team is committed to delivering high-quality developments that shape communities and exceed client expectations.Description
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for ground-up development and renovation projects.
- Develop conceptual and schematic budgets during early design phases.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
- Solicit and review subcontractor and supplier bids.
- Evaluate proposals for scope, pricing, and compliance with project requirements.
- Negotiate pricing and terms to achieve cost efficiencies.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or schedule.
- Provide alternative materials and construction methods to optimize budgets.
- Maintain current knowledge of local labor rates, material costs, and market trends.
- Build and update historical cost databases for future projects.
- Work closely with development managers, project managers, and design teams.
- Present estimates and cost analyses to senior leadership for approval.
- Assist in preparing financial models and feasibility studies.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in estimating for commercial, residential, or mixed-use projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with real estate developers or design-build firms.
- Familiarity with Philadelphia permitting and zoning processes.
- Understanding of sustainable building practices and LEED certification requirements
