Applications Engineer - Sutton, NH

Reporting into the VP of Engineering, the Applications Engineer is a critical role in the Engineering & Manufacturing department. The successful Applications Engineer will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing technical support and solutions to customers.

Description

The Applications Engineer will:

• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Engineering teams to develop system designs that meet customer requirements, using analytical and empirical methods while estimating costs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer issues related to product applications.
• Support marketing and sales efforts through professional interactions with colleagues and customers.
• Lead the creation and implementation of advanced training programs and support resources.
• Foster collaboration across departments to drive research and development initiatives, leveraging specialized expertise.
• Evaluate existing product applications and provide market insights to Marketing and Engineering teams.
• Monitor competitive products and share relevant industry insights across the company.
• Strengthen corporate presence by conducting training seminars, attending trade shows, and participating in industry conferences.

Profile

A successful Applications Engineer should have:

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in a technical field from an accredited institution, with a passion for continuous learning.
• Extensive experience in photonics, including expertise in optics, radiometry, photometry, color science, imaging devices, remote sensing, sensor design, electronics, electro-optics, integrating sphere design, LEDs, and lasers.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with customers and colleagues, along with advanced technical writing proficiency.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects through independent planning and execution.
• Willingness to travel independently (~10%) and adapt to flexible working hours.
