Assistant Project Manager - Commercial Construction
We are partnered with a respected commercial builder seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support ground‑up construction projects throughout Central Massachusetts. This role offers hands‑on exposure to the full project lifecycle, working closely with leadership from preconstruction through closeout.
Client Details
Our client is a well‑established commercial general contractor with nearly 50 years of success delivering ground‑up construction across Massachusetts. They have completed over 1,000 projects and are known for strong client relationships, diverse building types, and a collaborative, team‑oriented culture with long employee tenure.
Description
- Support project management activities on ground‑up commercial construction projects
- Assist with budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and document control
- Work closely with estimating and leadership during preconstruction and conceptual estimating phases
- Participate in design‑build coordination with architects, engineers, and clients
- Help manage projects from award through closeout, typically focused on one project at a time
- Track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and cost reporting using Procore
- Attend job meetings and coordinate with field teams to ensure schedule and quality goals are met

Profile
A successful Assistant Project Manager - Commercial Construction should have:
- 2+ years of experience in an Assistant Project Manager or similar role
- Background in ground‑up commercial construction preferred
- Exposure to design‑build delivery methods is a strong plus
- Working knowledge of Procore and Microsoft Office Suite
- Basic understanding of construction estimating and cost controls
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to commute daily to the Central Massachusetts office and job sites
