Cost Controller
Client Details
My client is a well-established food manufacturer specializing in high-quality products distributed across multiple channels and markets. They combine efficient manufacturing operations with a strong focus on innovation, quality, and cost optimization to drive sustainable growth.Description
1. Cost & Profitability Analysis
Develop and maintain detailed P&L analyses across products, customers, markets, and segments. Assess COGS variances, fixed versus variable costs, manufacturing inefficiencies, and gross margin trends, while supporting corrective action initiatives.
2. Strategic Financial Planning
Partner with sales and marketing to assess the financial impact of promotions and commercial activities. Build profitability and lifecycle models at the product and customer level, and support pricing strategies aligned with cost structures and market dynamics.
3. Manufacturing & Operational Insight
Collaborate with operations to understand key cost drivers and identify productivity enhancements. Highlight opportunities for cost optimization across manufacturing and supply chain processes, translating plant metrics into actionable insights.
4. Reporting & Forecasting
Create dashboards and reporting tools to track performance against budget for commercial leadership. Support budgeting, forecasting, and rolling cost projections, delivering clear visibility into cost-to-serve, contribution margins, and ROI.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Marketing to evaluate campaign effectiveness and product positioning. Partner with Sales on trade terms, discounts, and profitability by volume and mix, while providing Finance with structured insights for monthly close and variance analysis.
Profile
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline; professional certifications such as CMA or CPA are an advantage.
3-7 years of experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, or controlling, preferably within a manufacturing or CPG environment.
Advanced Excel skills with hands-on experience using ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Salesforce) and business intelligence tools such as Board.
Solid understanding of marketing ROI metrics, sales funnel dynamics, and segmentation analysis.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, compelling insights.
