Accounting Manager
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our dynamic finance team. This individual will play a key role in managing the company's accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting strategic decision-making as we continue to grow.

Description
Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
System Improvement & Implementation: Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger (GL) close process, including ensuring proper coding of journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, and compliance with accounting principles.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the team meets deadlines and maintains high standards of performance.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the development and management of the company's annual budget and forecasts. Analyze financial trends and provide insights to senior management on variances and corrective actions.
Internal Controls & Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and applicable accounting standards (e.g., GAAP). Work to improve processes and streamline accounting procedures.
Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries. Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and tax filings.
Inventory & Cost Accounting: Oversee inventory accounting processes, ensuring accurate recording of retail inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS). Analyze inventory discrepancies and work with the supply chain team to resolve issues.
Tax Compliance: Assist with sales tax reporting and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role, preferably in retail or a similar industry
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and retail accounting practices
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems implementation / improvement (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or similar)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, financial modeling)
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership abilities with a collaborative team-oriented mindset
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
