Looking to hire a motivated Construction Preconstruction Manager to join one of Northern New England's premier General Contractors! The ideal candidate will be based near Manchester, NH or Burlington, VT.

Description

The Construction Preconstruction Manager will be responsible for:

  • Project Planning & Coordination:

    • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to create project timelines and budgets.
    • Review initial project designs and provide feedback to ensure feasibility and efficiency.
    • Help with value engineering to reduce costs without compromising on quality or scope.
  • Cost Estimation & Budgeting:

    • Prepare detailed cost estimates for the entire project, including labor, materials, equipment, and other expenses.
    • Work with the estimating team to develop and refine estimates.
    • Monitor budget compliance and identify any financial risks or potential cost overruns.
  • Risk Management:

    • Identify potential risks to the project schedule, budget, or overall execution.
    • Propose solutions to mitigate those risks early in the process.
    • Ensure that contracts and agreements address any risks and liabilities.
  • Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination:

    • Identify, evaluate, and select subcontractors and vendors.
    • Coordinate procurement of materials and services.
    • Oversee the bidding process, ensuring compliance with project requirements and cost control.
  • Schedule Development & Management:

    • Develop detailed project schedules to ensure timely completion.
    • Coordinate the sequencing of construction activities.
    • Monitor and adjust schedules as necessary to maintain project timelines.
  • Regulatory Compliance:

    • Ensure the project adheres to all local codes, safety regulations, and legal requirements.
    • Coordinate permits, licenses, and inspections as necessary before construction begins.
  • Communication:

    • Serve as a point of contact between the client, design team, contractors, and other stakeholders.
    • Ensure that all parties involved are aligned and informed throughout the preconstruction phase.
  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Prepare and maintain preconstruction documentation, including estimates, schedules, and reports.
    • Provide regular updates on project status to senior management or clients.

Profile

The ideal Construction Preconstruction Manager will have:

  • BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related preferred
  • 5+ years of commercial preconstruction, esimating and/or project management experience
  • Experience estimating commercial construction in one of the following markets (or related): Academic, Healthcare, Life Science, Hospitality, Retail, etc
  • Able to be successful in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work under tight time lines to hit project deadlines
  • Experience with Excel, Planswift, Procore, On Screen, and/or Bluebeam
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
