This role requires a strong understanding of the building and construction industry best practices and the ability to oversee project controls, budgeting, and compliance with safety regulations. The company's Clean Energy and Infrastructure Group, based out of Shady Hills, Florida, is a $4 billion business unit providing construction services for various industrial facilities, including power generation and renewable energy plants. The Industrial sector focuses on delivering high-quality, safe, and flexible project management through a merit shop, multi-craft approach while prioritizing talent development and innovative solutions.
Description
The Civil Construction Project Manager will:
- Supervise the site management team and act as the primary representative in client interactions.
- Develop and implement a tailored safety plan, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Monitor project progress and productivity, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
- Ensure effective communication among clients, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors on project matters
- Oversee material deliveries, procurement processes, and assess material takeoffs.
- Maintain project documentation, including daily logs, photographs, and requests for information (RFIs).
- Mentor team members and conduct training on safety and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
- Manage project controls and contribute to the master project schedule and financial reporting.
- Approve purchase orders, subcontracts, and negotiate amendments to the Prime Contract.
- Collaborate with recruitment to hire project staff and oversee equipment acquisitions and rentals.
Profile
The successful Civil Construction Project Manager will have the following:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering and construction management
- Seven (7) years of field experience.
- A strong work ethic
- OSHA Certification preferred
- Proficient in project management software
- Stay well-informed about MIC Health and Safety programs and project-specific regulations, actively participating in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors to reinforce safety practices.
- Set a personal example of safe behavior while demonstrating a strong commitment to ethics and integrity in all interactions.
- Analyze engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents to identify discrepancies, providing constructability and cost-saving alternatives during the design and construction phases.
- Exhibit a proactive attitude and strong work ethic, capable of leading a team, delegating tasks effectively, and maintaining positive relationships with team members and supervisors while being open to extensive travel and relocation for project needs.
