Junior Estimator
The Junior Estimator will work directly under the chief estimator and senior estimators and assist in the preparation, coordination, and completion of project bids. This position is ideal for candidates looking to develop their estimating and construction management skills in a fast-paced team environment.

Description
- Assist in identifying and tracking project bidding opportunities.
- Obtain, organize, and review project plans and specifications.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and compare contract plans against specifications to identify discrepancies.
- Set up and maintain projects within HCSS Heavy Bid.
- Solicit and evaluate quotations from material suppliers and subcontractors.
- Coordinate with estimating team to confirm subcontractor scope alignment and unit pricing accuracy.
- Request and manage bid bonds and other required bid documentation.
- Conduct pre-bid site visits to verify project conditions and document findings with photos and videos.
- Maintain organized project files and bid documentation.
- Participate in estimating team meetings regarding bidding schedules, goals, and project reviews.
- Maintain and update outlook bidding calendar.
- Maintain and update databases such as HCSS Preconstruction and spreadsheets, for bidding costs, production rates, and historical project information.
- Prepare project kick-off meeting outlines and agendas for internal review by project management after project award.

Profile
- 1-4 years of construction estimating or project engineer related experience.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and project specifications.
- Understanding of project plans, specifications, addenda, and contract documents.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced office environment.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, DWG viewers, and CAD software preferred.
- Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid preferred but not required.
- Experience with Agtek Earthwork preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow within the company.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
