Quality Manager | Automotive | Metal Stamping

The Quality Manager oversees the entire Quality department, ensuring strong quality engineering practices, robust reliability processes, and consistent delivery of high‑quality products. This role is responsible for leading the team, strengthening quality systems, and driving continuous improvement throughout the division.

Description

    • Establish, guide, and support the Quality team's priorities, including defining clear responsibilities for each team member
    • Review and adjust staff objectives during regular performance evaluations
    • Develop, implement, and continuously improve departmental KPIs and metrics
    • Lead ongoing improvement initiatives within the Quality department
    • Promote continuous learning in areas such as measurement techniques, identification of critical features, fit/function assessments, and standardization of acceptance criteria
    • Ensure timely and accurate completion of NCRs, inspections, SPC activities, gauge calibration/maintenance, Cost of Quality tracking, and internal audits
    • Lead or support resolution efforts for customer‑specific quality issues and maintain strong communication as the primary customer quality contact
    • Participate in supplier meetings and provide input on quality expectations
    • Review all 8D reports and verify corrective action implementation
    • Actively contribute to APQP, FMEA sessions, and quote review discussions
    • Ensure the division maintains compliance with IATF 16949 requirements
    • Maintain and improve all quality‑related procedures, documentation, and manuals

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering OR technical training equivalent to a four‑year program; alternatively, 4-10 years of manufacturing experience in metalworking
  • 5-10 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong background in formal quality management systems, especially ISO 9001 and IATF 16949
  • Experience in the automotive industry is preferred
