Engineering Manager | Gears
The Engineering Manager will be leading a team of Process Engineers for a leading Aerospace & Defense company that specializes in the Manufacturing of Gears. Reporting directly to the CEO, this candidate will have the opportunity to grow into a top contributor within the organization.

based in the suburbs of Chicago, the client is a trusted name in precision gear manufacturing with over 50 years of experience. Renowned for its commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction, The client specializes in custom gear cutting, grinding, and complete gearbox assemblies for a wide range of industries-including aerospace, defense, energy, and industrial equipment.
Description
- Prepare gear designs for production.
- Prepare quotes on new and existing business.
- Evaluate and improve on processes in manufacturing systems.
- Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers.
- Develop innovative solutions.
- Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
- Develop and implement systems that optimize all phases of production process.
- Provide suggestions during incident investigations.
- Advise on corrective actions.
- Work with equipment designers and manufacturing officers to develop a cost-effective and working production process.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, which is a key to be successful in this position
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Preferably BSME or work equivalent.
- Previous Gear Process Engineer experience as well as managerial experience.
- Cad experience, Solid Works experience.
- Machining experience all preferred.
- Previous quoting experience preferred.
- Computer literate, detail orientated, strong interpersonal and communications skills. Strong math skills, strong analytical skills and team player all required.
Job Offer
- Base salary range $100,000 - $140,000 depending on level of experience
- Annual bonus incentive of 10% based on personal metrics & company performance
- 17 days PTO
