Senior Accountant Consultant
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing core accounting functions within the firm, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of financial reporting. This role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and leveraging the Aderant system to manage financial operations specific to a legal environment.

It operates in a structured professional environment focused on client service, ethical standards, and effective management of legal matters.
Description
- Manage and maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and internal reports
- Utilize Aderant to process and analyze financial data, including billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Review and reconcile bank accounts, trust accounts, and client-related transactions in compliance with legal accounting standards
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable legal/industry regulations
- Assist with audits, including preparation of schedules and documentation
- Monitor and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
- Collaborate with billing, payroll, and operational teams to ensure financial accuracy
- Mentor junior accounting staff and review their work as needed
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment
- Hands-on experience with Aderant (or similar legal accounting software) required
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with trust accounting and legal billing processes is highly desirable
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
