Financial Reporting Consultant

This role involves preparing and analyzing a wide range of financial regulatory reports for U.S. operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory guidelines. It requires strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and coordination across teams, with a preference for candidates experienced in banking, financial reporting, or regulatory compliance.

Client Details

The client is a commercial bank that started in Japan. They are the third largest bank in Japan and offer services such as investment banking, global markets, and sales and trading.

Description

  • Compile and submit various financial regulatory reports on a recurring basis, ensuring accuracy and adherence to U.S. accounting standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Perform reconciliations between general ledger data and reporting outputs, investigating discrepancies and validating key financial data.
  • Monitor updates from regulatory bodies and incorporate changes into reporting processes to maintain compliance.
  • Document and refine procedures related to financial reporting requirements, supporting internal controls and audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with teams across departments to gather necessary data and ensure timely completion of reporting tasks.
  • Provide support to senior team members and contribute to special projects or ad hoc reporting needs as required.

Profile

  • Holds a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, with a strong foundation in financial principles and reporting standards.
  • Brings 2-3 years of relevant experience in financial services, preferably within regulatory reporting, public accounting, or banking environments.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools, with added value from familiarity with business intelligence platforms like Power BI or Alteryx.
  • Possesses a solid understanding of financial instruments and products, including loans, securities, and derivatives.
  • Shows strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and collaborate effectively across teams.
