Description

The Senior Preconstruction Manager plays a critical leadership role in the early stages of the project lifecycle. From concept through design development, this role oversees estimating, value engineering, bid strategy, and stakeholder coordination. The ideal candidate is proactive, client-focused, and passionate about building better outcomes-before construction even begins.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all preconstruction efforts for assigned projects, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and timely delivery
  • Collaborate directly with owners, architects, engineers, and consultants to align scope, schedule, and budget
  • Prepare and present conceptual budgets and detailed estimates at progressive design milestones
  • Oversee bid solicitations, subcontractor qualification, scope reviews, and final buyout recommendations
  • Propose value engineering and constructability enhancements to maximize budget efficiency and project success
  • Mentor and support junior staff, promoting team development and preconstruction best practices

Profile

  • 5-10+ years of relevant experience in preconstruction or estimating, ideally with large-scale commercial and or industrial projects
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline preferred
  • Proficient with preconstruction and estimating platforms (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, BuildingConnected)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong client-facing presence
  • Deep understanding of construction systems, market pricing, bid processes, and risk management
