Senior Estimator- Commercial Construction

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join a growing Fort Lauderdale-based General Contractor specializing in commercial construction. This role will play a pivotal part in preconstruction by managing estimates for complex projects across sectors like office, retail, K-12, and light industrial.

Description

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial projects at all phases (conceptual through final bid).

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers during preconstruction.

• Solicit and review subcontractor and supplier quotes, ensuring accurate scope and pricing.

• Conduct quantity takeoffs, value engineering, and risk analysis.

• Lead bid proposals and participate in presentations for negotiated work.

• Maintain historical cost data and stay updated on market trends and pricing.

• Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating procedures.

Profile

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of commercial estimating experience with a general contractor, preferably in South Florida. A strong background in ground-up and interior commercial construction is required. Proficiency in estimating software (such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, or Sage Estimating) and excellent analytical and communication skills are essential. The candidate should be detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
