Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
- Assist in the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Take full ownership of the weekly payroll process for 400 employees across four business units (salary, hourly, union) - approximately 1.5 days per week.
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, handling payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies.
- Communicate directly with internal clients and managers face-to-face, addressing payroll and accounting concerns.
- Support the Controller with key functions, including:
- Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) processing and reconciliations.
- General Ledger management, ensuring accuracy in financial records.
- Financial reporting and statement analysis, providing key insights.
- Assisting with audits and compliance to meet regulatory standards.
- Handle ad hoc requests, such as running reports, analyzing financial data, and providing financial insights to support business decisions.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience in the Manufacturing or Construction industry.
- Experience processing payroll for a large volume of employees.
- Mature and proactive with strong problem-solving skills.
- Patient and adaptable, able to communicate effectively with managers and employees.
- Resourceful and independent, capable of understanding and anticipating managerial needs.
