Dealership Accounting Supervisor | North Suburbs | Hybrid
I am partnered with the Controller of a leader in the dealership industry. My clients is looking for a Dealership Accounting Supervisor to oversee a group of regional dealerships in the US! The Dealership Accounting Supervisor will oversee your own team of Dealership Accountants as they assist you with month end close, financial reporting, financial analysis, inventory management, etc!
Client Details
My client is an industry leader in the Dealership industry and is looking to grow their team with a new Dealership Accounting Supervisor! As the Dealership Accounting Supervisor, you will oversee one of the company's US regions leading the accounting and finance processes with the support and mentorship of the Controller and CFO. You will oversee your own team of Dealership Accountants that will assist you with month end close, financial reporting, financial analysis, inventory management, and more!

Description
- Supervise accounting staff, including training, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to automotive dealership accounting.
- Assist in analyzing financial performance and variances.
- Record daily transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable entries.
- Oversee inventory accounting processes, including reconciliation and valuation.
- Perform financial analysis to support business decisions.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions to streamline operations and enhance accuracy.
- Collaborate with auditors and tax professionals to ensure compliance and accurate reporting.
- Support the finance and sales departments with accounting-related inquiries.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA (Certified Public Accountant) preferred.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in automotive dealership accounting or relevant industry.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Leadership and team management experience.
