Quality Engineer - Aerospace Manufacturing - Hartford, CT
In this role, the Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the high quality standards of the product lines both in process and within final production stages. With a wide variety of responsibilities, this individual will be able to participate in a lot of different areas and make a difference towards overall customer satisfaction.

Description
In this role, the Quality Engineer will:
- Review design drawings, operation sheets, process procedures, test procedures, procurement documents, quality manuals, and inspection analyses to ensure compliance with division and customer quality requirements.
- Assist in the contract review process and interpret specifications such as AS9100C, ISO9001:2008, ASQR-01, and other customer, material, or process specifications.
- Monitor supplier performance, conduct Root Cause and Corrective Action using tools like 8D and 5 Whys, and lead/support Quality Clinic activities.
- Engage with customers to resolve quality issues and support the Purchasing group in material procurement, special processes, and approved supplier requirements.
- Collaborate with the Customer Service Department to address customer issues and respond to Corrective Action Request (CAR) with effective process improvements.
- Conduct internal audits, with experience in AS9100 internal audits preferred, and provide quality support to the Engineering group in New Product Introduction (NPI) and analysis of nonconforming parts.
- Generate and analyze quality metrics, review trends, and implement process improvements to mitigate risks.
- Support continuous improvement projects and communicate quality requirements to suppliers to prevent nonconforming products.
- Maintain quality records to ensure compliance with regulations and implement new inspection tools and technology, such as Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and vision systems.

Profile
The successful Quality Engineer will have:
- 4-year College Degree in a Technical Discipline
- 2-3 Years experience within Quality Engineering
- Knowledge of Lean Principles and SPC
- Background Knowledge of Supplier Quality
- History with interpreting GD&T Blueprints and validating inspections
- Microsoft Office familiarity
- Strong Communication skills
