Senior Quality Engineer - Aerospace - Buffalo, NY

This role requires advanced quality engineering expertise to tackle complex quality issues. The individual will collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to optimize processes, boost productivity, and guarantee adherence to customer, regulatory (AS9100, ISO9001, CFR, FAA), and internal quality standards.

Description

In this role, the Senior Quality Engineer will:

  • Apply Technical Strengths: Identify and implement technical solutions to improve business processes.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Problem Solving: Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct audits, failure analysis, and PPAP/APQP activities.
  • Team Leadership: Lead projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Customer Focus: Support customer needs and address product quality issues.

In essence, this role involves applying advanced technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to improve product quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Profile

A Successful Senior Quality Engineer will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis techniques (e.g., 8D).
  • ITAR compliance knowledge.
  • Project management skills.
  • Engineering drawing interpretation and specification understanding.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Minitab, and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to change, and work independently.
